Hi, i think the guide should be much more step-by-step - most surv. guides are for reading BEFORE anything bad happens. They give a lot of really vital information, but you cannot condense it to 20 pages. i think it should be more an 'if-then-else' document with very short, order-like paragraphs, lining out the most important things (those which are forgotten easely), something to 'cling' to.
If in a bad sit, most people will be near panic and won`t have any brain to read a booklike-chapter. Also, an order-like style is much more memorable.

Sounds good, I'll have that done. I've actually found lots of great resources, like this: http://www.equipped.com/fm21-76.htm http://www.basegear.com/fm2176.html
Its a US Military field survival manual. I figure we can put more details in the steps and take out the jungle environments.
I agree most survival guides are for reading before anything bad happens, but many also contain deadly errors. I'm going over what should be safe. US Military manuals are mostly public and many are very accurate on what should be done. As a result I am picking and choosing from them.
In addition, the realism is that people would probably not go out and buy a $5-50 book on survival, even less pack a kit in their car for it. I figure if we somehow condense some tools into a 20 page booklet, we might be on to something. My friend is coming up with a graphic in which a single sheet of paper can act as a clock and compass.
Help along if you can! Thanks.
